Young Agronomist Award
The Australian Society of Agronomy seeks nominations for the inaugural Young Agronomist Award to be presented at the 13th Australian Agronomy Conference in Perth, WA between 10-14 September 2006.
The award will be presented to a young person (aged 35 and under) who has achieved excellence in research and/or the application of science on crops and pastures, including the disciplines of plant physiology, breeding, nutrition, pathology, entomology, soil science, weed science, economics and farming systems. The award will be made on a competitive basis and consists of a cash payment of $1000 to the awardee.
We encourage all Australian agronomists to nominate their colleagues who have made a useful contribution to agronomy in Australia, whether they are working in research, extension or other. To apply for this prestigious award, a nominator must complete the following application and provide a current CV of the nominee.
Nominations close at 5 pm WST on 14 July, 2006
Instructions for preparing the application

. - Ensure both Sections 1 & 2 of your application are completed by nominator – Sections 1 and 2
- Attach a current CV of the nominee (< 4 pages)
- Submit completed applications electronically to dsharma@agric.wa.gov.au.
- Post one hard copy of the application to:

Conditions and assessment
- Only nominees aged 35 and under are eligible.
- Nominees must be currently living in Australia or New Zealand and working in a field related to agronomy.
- Nominations will be assessed by a sub-committee of the Australian Society of Agronomy, which will consist of both early career and established agronomists.
- Electronic nominations must be received by 5pm WST, 14 July 2006 to be eligible. No late applications will be considered.
