Guidelines for Paper Reviewers

Review Guidelines

The purpose of this review is to assist the authors in improving the paper prior to publication in the conference proceedings. These are not journal papers.

The conference forum should allow for the development of idea and fostering of new and young scientists. You are asked to share your experience with submitting authors to help them to improve the presentation of their work.

Please pay particular attention to:

  • Clarity (remove ambiguity) to make the paper clear with a single reading.
  • Sufficient detail in the materials and methods.
  • Conclusions justified on the basis of the data presented.
  • Critical information that may be missing.
  • Superfluous information that could have been excluded.
  • Obvious errors in fact or logic.

Note: If the paper you have been allocated is an abstract only, please ignore it. You will be notified when the full paper is received.

Steps to Follow

  1. Login to the website with your username and password.
    (Forgotten? Enter your email address in the box on the login page.)
  2. Go to the Author Gateway and choose the For Reviewers tab.
  3. Click the Download Paper icon Download Paper in the Actions column to save the document to your computer
    (add underscore _review to the filename).
  4. Review papers using track changes. To make your review anonymous
    • Remove your details from File > Properties > General
    • Change your name to "Reviewer" in Tools > Options > User information
  5. To upload your review, follow Steps 1-2 and then choose the
    Add Review icon     Add Review.
  6. Add comments for the editor and make a recommendation as follows:
    • approve,
    • minor change,
    • major change, or
    • reject.
  7. The icon will change to Edit Review Edit Review. Click this to update your review if necessary.

The deadline for reviews is 30 June 2008.
